OUR HISTORY

The original Alvarado Street Brewery opened in downtown Monterey in May of 2014. The historically significant building was purchased by the Hill family and underwent a significant conversion into upper level apartments and the Alvarado Street Brewery & Grill on the ground floor. A year later an outdoor, Beer Garden pavilion was added and, to supplement house offerings and supply beer to quality regional establishments, a production Brewery and Tasting Room opened in April of 2016 in Salinas, California. The Alvarado Street Brewery and Bistro, Carmel opened in December of 2018 on the courtyard level of the Carmel Plaza shopping complex facing Mission Street. The 5 barrel in-house brewery and restaurant features a 40 seat outside courtyard, and indoor seating for 120 guests including a private dining room lined with oak “Foeders” aging mixed fermentation beers.
